Fading an image in Photoshop

Hello this is nice tutorial, I use it very often in my design. There is various method to fade an image, but i prefer to use this.

Select an image. Any image your wish.

Second step is click on the Quick Mask Mode as shown below.

I'm using gradient tool to make the selection.

Let the gradient setting to default as shown below

Quit from the quick mask mode by clicking the standard mode button which is the same button with quick mask mode.

You can see the selection line on the bottom of the image.

You can move the selection by click on the selection tool (1) and make sure the default setting (2) and drag the selection area downward.

Final step is just by hit the delete button to remove the unwanted part.
